Day by day guide

Day 1

Arrive Jakarta. Meet our local representative at the airport for your transfer to the City Centre Santika Hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Pangkalanbun. On arrival at the airport you will be met and driven to the jetty to board your wooden river boat (Klotok) to begin your adventure in Tanjung Puting National Park. As you cruise down the river opportunities will be given to explore, before stopping off at Leakey Camp to see the Orang Utans that have been re-introduced to their natural habitat. In the afternoon, the boat will take you down river and you will be able to take the pictures of the endemic Kalimantan monkeys, birds and other wildlife flying through the trees and running around your feet. You arrive late afternoon at the riverside Rimba Lodge. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day in your jungle retreat.

Day 3

After breakfast once again board your Klotok for your return to Camp Leakey. Bypass the camp and turn up a side creek where the older Orang Utans are reintroduced into the rain forest. En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation centre, then trek into the rain forest with our expert guide and forestry rangers. This will give you more opportunities to appreciate the flora and perhaps you may be luck enough to see the wild Orang Utans, along with gibbons, macaques and birds. Lunch is provided on your Klotok. In the afternoon you have you final time but possibly most intimate times with the Orang Utans at the feeding station. Once again you board your Klotok for your river trip back to the Rimba Lodge.

Day 4

After breakfast at the Rimba Lodge, you are transferred by Klotok and road to Pangkalanbun airport for your onward flight.
